Hyderabad: The TRS manifesto committee on SC and ST welfare issues met here on Monday to discuss and prepare the wish list of the communities to be included in the party manifesto.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari chaired the meeting held at his residence in the city. The TRS election manifesto is likely to be released in the first week of November.
The committee members discussed the introduction of special growth engine schemes for SCs and STs on the lines of caste-based schemes launched by the State government for various communities in the State during its tenure. They also proposed increasing the reservations for SCs and STs as per 2011 Census, besides providing financial assistance to unemployed youth without bank linkage.
Proposals such as the introduction of Telangana life insurance scheme for SCs/ STs and the establishment of a separate corporation for integrated development of tribal gram panchayats were also under consideration.Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao appointed the committee to come up with special growth engine schemes for SCs and STs following numerous representations seeking schemes such as sheep distribution. The schemes will be designed with a budget outlay of Rs 10,000-15,000 crore for SCs and Rs 6,000-10,000 crore for STs.
The committee members, including Finance Minister Etela Rajender, MPs Banda Prakash, Sitaram Naik, Godem Nagesh, Pasunuri Dayakar, former Minister P Ramulu, TSIIC Chairman Gyadari Balamallu, former MLAs Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Aroori Ramesh, attended the meeting.
