The go green movement started as a green challenge in line with Telanganaku Haritha Haram continued to garner more momentum with Governor ESL Narasimhan and several Tollywood celebrities including Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu among others, picking up the baton.
Popular actor Mahesh Babu accepted the green challenge thrown by Minister KT Rama Rao and posted the pictures of sapling planted by him. The actor thanked the Minister and Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat for nominating him and said, “Haritha Haram is a great initiative taken towards a go green environment”.
Babu passed the green baton by nominating his children – Gautam, Sitara, and Vamshi Paidipally, the director of his next movie.
Tollywood star Chiranjeevi also kept the green movement going by planting three saplings in the backyard of his house. He accepted the challenge by NTv chairman Narendra Chowdary, and further nominated veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao, and actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan.
Popular comedy actor Brahmanandam and Baahubali film director SS Rajamouli were among the other Tollywood fraternity to take part in the challenge.
Accepting the Green Challenge, Governor ESL Narasimhan too planted saplings at the Raj Bhavan premises on Tuesday and said that each one should plant one for a healthy future. It was environmentalist Vanajeevi Ramaiah, Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar and NTv chairman Narendra Chowdary who had thrown the green challenge to the governor.
Actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan too accepted the Green Challenge thrown at him by his brother and actor Chiranjeevi and planted saplings on Tuesday.
