Sri Reddy Accuses Tamil Actor Vishal Of Threatening Her: It seems that the South Indian film industry has been facing bad times with allegation and counter-allegation, casting couch, fraud, and cases of cheating.
Actress Sri Reddy who occupied the headlines of news for her semi-nude protest before the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce once again come with new sets of allegations against Vishal Reddy- the popular Tamil actor. Reddy is also the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam and the president of Tamil Film Producer Council.
In her social media posting the actress said that Reddy has threatened her after casting couch allegations she made public.
“I am facing threat from Tamil actor Vishal Reddy. But I wanted to reveal the secrets of dark side Kollywood,” said Sri Reddy in her facebook page.
Before that, the actress had accused several people from Tollywood of being involved in casting couch. Now the actress has made an accusation towards the prominent people of Kollywood. Choreographer turned actor/director Raghava Lawrence, Director Murugadoss, and actor Srikanth etc are some of the people she had pointed her finger so far.
“She should come forward with evidence of her accusations rather than just naming anyone. It seems like she’s picking her targets randomly. For all we know, I might be the next one to be named by her,” said Vishal Reddy earlier in an interview.
Even Raghava Lawrence also reacted strongly to the actress’s allegation saying that she has been using his name to get publicity only. He has not been a part of the Telugu industry for the past five years as he has been busy with his own films. The sad thing is, it is distracting everybody from the real issues affecting the country.
“You never know who will be named next. I seriously think such grave allegations must be substantiated with evidence. Our laws about sex crimes are lopsided. Any woman can make the allegation and the law will act on that allegation and give the accused a chance to defend himself only later. This is not right.” he said further.
After the actress made a row of explosive allegations, the Telangana government took the matter seriously and decided to form a special cell in the Film Development Corporation. After a meeting with representatives of Tollywood T. Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Cinematography had announced this cell will look into complaints of sexual exploitation.
